Palitana (Shatrunjaya Hills)

Palitana, located in the Bhavnagar district of Gujarat, is one of the most sacred pilgrimage sites for Jains. Famous for the revered Shatrunjaya Hills, Palitana is home to more than 900 exquisitely carved marble Jain temples, making it one of the largest temple complexes in the world. The site holds immense spiritual significance, as it is believed that many Jain Tirthankaras attained enlightenment here.

Pilgrims and travelers climb around 3,800 stone steps to reach the hilltop temples, passing scenic views and peaceful surroundings along the way. The main attraction, Adinath Temple, dedicated to the first Jain Tirthankara Lord Rishabhdev, stands as a symbol of devotion and architectural brilliance. The serene atmosphere, intricate carvings, and panoramic views of the surrounding plains create a deeply spiritual and enriching experience.
